Common questions

How do I unlock the next tier?: Each tier states its requirement on the locked row. Beginner and Intermediate unlock the next tier when you clear 30 pairs in one run; Hard unlocks Pro at 20 pairs in one run.
Why does a pair not clear when both characters look right?: Tones count. 明 (míng) and 名 (míng) match; 明 (míng) and 命 (mìng) do not. Near-homophones appear on purpose from Intermediate up.
Why did a match name a reading I did not expect?: Characters with more than one reading are in play. When a pair clears on a secondary reading, the app names the reading it matched on, so you can see which one it used.
The pronunciation sounds wrong or does not play.: Audio uses the Chinese voice installed on your device. Add or improve it in Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices. Speaking can be turned off entirely in the app's own Settings.
Can I change the interface language?: Yes — Settings › Language, English or 简体中文. Readings, meanings, and example translations stay in English in both, because they are the study content rather than interface text.
How do I reset my progress?: Settings › Reset › Reset progress. It clears every best score, the notebook, and all per-character history, and cannot be undone.
Is my data sent anywhere?: No. The app makes no network requests and collects nothing. See the privacy policy.
